Elimination Final: Giants Women's vs West London Wildcats 2's

Writer: Joseph ArthurJoseph Arthur

Do or die time at Wimbledon where the Giants faced off against the West London Wildcats. For the loser it would be season over, for the winner a chance to face off against the loser from 1st v 2nd played the day before.

Near perfect conditions, a rarity for Wimbledon, gave our Giants the chance to play their game. And oh how they played it! First quarter the ball was never in Giants defensive half, an enormous amount of pressure keeping Wildcats scrambling. Second quarter much the same proving it wasn't the breeze, it was the Giant tsunami and it was raining shots on goals.

A game never in doubt thanks to a real team effort - defence rock solid, mids applying the pressure they've become known for and the forwards getting the scores on the board. A hattrick from captain extraordinaire Susie Carr coming back from a week-long Glasto-induced illness topped off the win.

With this win the Giants will take on Wimbledon Hawks next week in the preliminary final. The winner goes to the Grand Final to take on London Swans. A rematch on the cards from 2023? Let's go!

Giants: 8.15 63

Wildcats: 0.1 1

Goals: Susie x3, Hyner x2, Hibbo, Ruby, Saski

Shoeys: Hibbo, Gingi, G and Suskey (just because)
